Girl in the Mirror

book cover: girl in the mirror

To say that this novel is a romance would be absolutely apt, but to say that it is just a romance as in the ‘girl and boy fall in love and happily ever after’ kinda romance would not be doing justice. The plot does involve the ‘girl and boy fall in love and live happily ever after’ plot but the twists and hurdles that pave the path of this love story are unique and novel for a regular romantic reader.

Not giving away the story, this book is about beauty and beautiful settings and beautiful characters. It is the kind of book which takes the reader through a long journey of the character’s life and you live the tears, the fears and the cheers right alongside the character.

In an age where make up has almost become a necessity and cosmetic treatments are as normal as getting a pair of spectacles, this story raises the question of how highly does physical beauty actually rank in our list? Are we willing and ready to except the not so ‘beautiful’ parts of ourselves and in others?

Of course, if all that is getting too deep and philosophical for you, the book can be read as an intriguing tale with vivid characters, sub plots which will tingle your emotional nerves as much as the main story and scenes set in a range of pleasantly stimulating settings: from the glamorous Hollywood to the picturesque countryside.

Overall, this novel grabbed my attention in the very first scene, glided through my days with its smooth twists and turns and concluded with a satisfying yet not so obviously predictable end.
