This is a personal blog about my thoughts on the books I read. I post my own reviews of the books I read on a weekly basis. As I’m no expert on literature, these reviews are simply my opinions about the book, what I liked, what I disliked, and whom according to me should or should not read a specific book. I by no means claim to be a qualified book critic and so refrain from commenting on the literary aspects of the novel or the author’s writing style.
Why Follow Book Diaries?
There are a few things I keep in mind while writing my reviews. Firstly, I do not waste space or time on giving you a brief synopsis of the book. I know from experience that two paragraphs can never give you an idea about the entire book. You can find the synopsis of the books on the Goodreads page that is linked below each book’s review. Second, NO SPOILERS! I make sure I do not include anything that would even remotely hint at the end or spoil the reading experience for you. If I feel that some part of the review would reveal some element of suspense, I always give a big bold warning. Lastly, these are my genuine, non-sponsored thoughts about these books. Thus, if you find that you have a similar taste in books, you can visit bookdiaries every week to read my unbiased reviews.
About the Blogger
Well… I’m a twenty something girl who calls reading books her favourite activity in the whole world. Although, reading a book, tucked into my bed, in a state of absolute inactivity, is probably a better description of my favourite way to pass my time. I picked up this addiction of books (fiction books to be precise) quite late in my life. thus, I’m still exploring the different genres of fiction and at times regress to books meant for much younger readers, just cause I totally missed out on those books when I was the appropriate age.
What Do I Read?
Very frankly, after approximately 5 years of being an active reader, I have learnt that you can’t judge a book by its cover or genre. You never know which story you might end up falling in love with. However, there are some genres I have had majorly good experiences with. Romance is most definitely one of them. As I said, nothing better than to get cosy in your blanket with a warm and funny love story on a winter day. I also enjoy well written mysteries and thrillers. Nothing too scary though. I also make a point to read a classic once in a blue moon. Some of my favourite books are those that portray real life heroism. And don’t judge me for it, but I relate extremely well with most Young Adult novels.
